| There are miles of riding trails with a different scenic view on every ride. Riding lessons are given to guests upon arrival. With more than 30 horses, there is one for the beginner as well as the experienced rider. A great way to go exploring is with your camera and extra rolls of film. Share your experience with pictures to remember. You will feel a certain thrill of seeing white tail deer, coyotes or wild turkeys at any time on the trail or in front of the lodge. Experience an Old West Cattle Drive! This seasonal event of branding, doctoring, and moving cattle occurs in the spring, pushing cattle high into the mountains for summer grazing, and in the fall searching the hills to bring them home for winter calving. While the season for vacations is predominantly during the warmer months, ranch activities go on throughout the year. As a working cattle ranch, we are open all year. Calves and foals are born in the spring, hay harvesting in the summer, feeding hay in the winter and timber harvesting as time permits. Roundups, fencing and maintenance is part of our lives. Each month with its colours and changes is unique in itself. No matter when you come, you are sure to enjoy a distinctive visit. A time to relax is every evening on the front porch watching the sun set or in front of the fireplace during the winter holidays. | |

Ranch life at Blackwater is friendly and fun, however there are no "must's" at Blackwater: we're here to make this the vacation of your dreams. Games and barbecues, cowboy sing-a-longs and other nightly entertainment, hiking and just plain goofing off make this a relaxing, rejuvenating vacation.
Choose your favorite Ranch activities: horseback riding on mountain trails or into nearby meadows, fly fishing on the adjacent Shoshone River (instructors available), or indoor and outdoor recreation. Nearby, our guests can enjoy river rafting on the South Fork of the Shoshone, discovering historical Cody, western rodeos, or a guided day-trip thru Yellowstone National Park and visit the granddaddy of all geysers, Old Faithful. While we believe in activities the whole family can experience together, at Blackwater Creek Ranch we hold special children's activities to give those older cowboys and cowgirls an occasional breather, too! From supervised fly fishing excursions to billiard tournaments, dance lessons and our World-Famous Duck Race, to the Guest Rodeo and Talent Show, to supervised swimming and spa activities...we've got it all! At Blackwater Creek Ranch, we're proud of our family-oriented activity schedule, all designed to give our guests (young AND old) the chance to Live Their Dreams! |

| There's a place in the Wyoming mountains where time slows down, the air smells clean, the water runs pure and the people are down home friendly. Boulder Lake Lodge, one of the most prestigious and successful dude ranches in Wyoming, is truly at the "end of the road," nestled in the foothills of the Bridger National Forest. Thick aspen groves and pine covered hillsides set the stage for one of the finest family vacations in the Wind River Mountains. Boulder Lake Lodge is a part of the original ranch homesteaded in the early 1900's and has been used for western movie sets in years past. Modern guest rooms, each with a private bath, offer visitors the best in accommodations, while a central lodge room provides opportunity for visiting and relaxation before a huge fireplace. Excellent family style meals are served three times daily and the casual western style hospitality is sure to make you feel at home. Good 'ole cowboy ballads after an evening meal portray a culture that is classically American. Boulder Lake Lodge offers a variety of activities from a relaxing float trip down the nearby Green River to a rigorous hike up Boulder Creek Canyon. One of the highlights is a pack trip deep into the unspoiled wilderness near the Continental Divide. More than 100 lakes with an average elevation of 10,000 feet and surrounding peaks rising over 13,000 feet make the Wind River Range one of the last truly primitive frontiers in the nation. | |

Stand in the middle of Brush Creek ranch and the Sierra Madre Mountains linger on the horizon, across the valley to the west and southwest. Nestled below the adjacent million acre Medicine Bow National Forest, Brush Creek is a diamond in this rough and beautiful corner of Southeast Wyoming. You'll find that every view, especially the one from our verandah, is fantastic!
Brush Creek is not a resort; it's a six thousand acre working cattle and guest ranch. There are no tennis courts; the nearest golf course is eighteen miles down the valley in Saratoga. However, you aren't likely to find yourself with time on your hands, unless that is what you came up here for. Stand knee deep in a mountain stream with a trout tugging at your line or get a little trail dust in your saddle as you search for elk in the aspen. They extend their hand come up to Brush Creek Ranch for a genuine Western experience.
The ranch's history began many years ago when homesteaders who were following the construction of the railroad across the land, settled the valley in the 1800's.

Listed with the National Register of Historic Places, the CM has specialized in family vacations since 1927. It is one of the two oldest dude ranches in Wyoming, with a fine reputation. The ranch is not just a group of buildings set up for summer use, but a welcoming home, with atmosphere and charm. The expansive ranch lands are contiguous with the Shoshone National Forest and Fitzpatrick Wilderness, which means almost endless private riding and fishing country of great variety and beauty. During the day you can ride, fish, hike, swim, picnic, participate in activities, or relax with your book, as you please. Evenings can be spent with others at square dances or cookouts, playing softball, horseshoes or volleyball on the lawn, or ping pong and card games. Each week there is a slide show by a visiting photographer, and an evening of cowboy poetry and music. Perhaps you would like to join friends on a cabin porch for conversation and star gazing. And there is always the quiet seclusion of your cabin, to enjoy. The CM is friendly and informal. The size is ideal, as there are always several age groups, assuring congenial companionship for all. It is a relaxing place to bring your family or friends, and spend time with them in simple outdoor activities. The employees are seasoned ranch hands and attractive college students from all over the United States, and they are encouraged to participate in all aspects of ranch life. Everyone is welcome at the CM; families, groups, reunions, couples, and singles. All will get to know each other very easily and find themselves engaging in activities together. | |
